All Save the Children Sweden partner organisations have an ethical platform and endorse human rights and the Conventions on the Rights of the Child. We support partner organisations in applying the rights-based approach including child participation, non discrimination, accountability, and indivisibility in their work.
Our partners should be legally recognized in the countries where they function, should not be politically affiliated and have the potential and willingness to develop democratic external structures. Additionally they are not entirely dependant on our funds, and all long-term partners receiving financial support are assisted in developing fundraising strategies to ensure their financial sustainability.
We encourage the ownership of regional campaigns, and facilitate the interaction and cooperation between national and regional networks to raise the competence of organisations and global initiatives. Furthermore we support our partners to influence the state in developing preventive and protective mechanisms and measures for the rights of children.
Save the Children Sweden has two strategic objectives for partnerships:
Developing their capacity and self-reliance as advocates for child rights
Participating actively in networking and sharing experiences with Save the Children Sweden, in addition to other organisations
