Much has been achieved since the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989: children have become more visible all over the world and are more often perceived as human beings with rights. “But still a lot of work needs to be done in the areas of protection, education, child governance and health as well as regarding the need to ensure that all legislations are in full compliance with the CRC ”, says Sanna Johnson, Regional Director for Middle East and North Africa region.
